ARTERRA RESTAURANT AT THE SAN DIEGO MARRIOTT DEL MAR BREAKS GROUND FOR A NEW OUTDOOR LOUNGE, SET TO DEBUT JUNE 2007
A hip, new lounge setting serves as the perfect compliment to Arterra’s stellar food and wine program
(SAN DIEGO, CA; May 2007) – Arterra Restaurant and Bar announces the launch of its new poolside lounge, opening this June. In response to growing customer demand, the management team at Arterra and the San Diego Marriott Del Mar are enhancing the restaurant’s idyllic, sunny San Diego setting with the addition of this energetic and fresh design concept. “Our goal is to add a new dynamic to the restaurant,” states General Manager Tom Mastricola, “with a place where guests can drop in for a small bite, enjoy a summer cocktail and socialize with friends.”
The new lounge will re-vamp the current pool deck and expand upon the already existing interior bar, creating an ambience conducive to both al fresco dining and nighttime reveling. Enhancements include a collection of private cabanas lining the pool, each boasting individual plasma screens, sound systems, wireless internet capabilities and ceiling fans for added comfort. Three fire pits, strategically placed throughout the poolside area, encourage a socially inviting atmosphere, while a state-of-the-art windscreen, made of glass and wood planking, frames the outdoor lounge. Advanced LED lighting technology incorporated into the pool system adds an energetic brilliance, as the water will continually change color throughout the evening. All new lighting, furnishings, landscaping and private dining spaces add to the posh ambience of Arterra’s new lounge destination.
Summer fare from Executive Chef Brian Pekarcik provides the perfect compliment to the poolside lounge. Pekarcik will offer a menu of “California Small Bites,” featuring such items as a Trio of Kobe Beef Sliders; Mango and Raisin Cous Cous with Cilantro Marinated Prawns; or Curry Chicken Samosas with fresh Cucumber Salad. In true Arterra fashion, all lounge menu items will reflect Pekarcik’s dedication to seasonality, changing regularly to offer only the freshest produce available. General Manager Tom Mastricola also brings his expertise in wine and spirits, creating a selection of creative summer cocktails that pair perfectly with Chef Brian’s seasonal cuisine.
Arterra is open for breakfast Monday through Friday from 6:30
a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for
lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and for
dinner Monday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The
bar is open from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. with a special bar menu
