ARTERRA AT MARRIOTT DEL MAR DEBUTS REFRESHING NEW LOOK,
TASTE AND VIBE AT TASTE OF ARTERRA
Grand Re-opening Event Stays True to Roots - Brings Together Local Produce and Protein Vendors, Gives Back to Farm2Kids Program
SAN DIEGO – (2/2/11) – To kick off the New Year, Arterra at Marriott Del Mar is unveiling a new look, taste and vibe with a special grand re-opening event, Taste of Arterra, on February 17, 2011 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Known as San Diego’s field-to-fork fresh innovator, Arterra Restaurant will debut items from its new menu, along with a refreshing new décor in the dining room, featuring warm woods, cool metals and rich colors to match the signature style and charm of Southern California.
Designed as a one-of-a-kind culinary journey, Taste of Arterra invites guests to explore the new modern look and feel of the restaurant while sampling new signature dishes like lobster mac ‘n’ cheese, Moroccan braised beef short rib and avocado butter cake with almond crunch. Staying true to its roots, Arterra is partnering with local vendors to feature their ingredients at live action stations, including a sushi station with signature house made sauces. Live music by the Flounders and DJ SACH-A-MO will entertain guests lounging on the outdoor patio and a wine and beverage bar will host a mixologist creating signature cocktails.
Taste of Arterra will highlight Arterra’s renowned culinary team, led by new Executive Chef Tony Miller and seasoned Sushi Chef, Andrew Hoh. Chef Miller previously honed his skills at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua, Columbus’ Latitude 41 and the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort before setting his sites on Arterra. Known for his warm personality, authentic approach and passion for local ingredients, Chef Miller brings Arterra’s new menu to life by offering an innovative spin on seasonal favorites.
Arterra’s well-known Sushi Chef, Andrew Hoh, has made a name for himself during his nine years at the restaurant by crafting modern and fun sushi dishes. Born in Korea and raised locally in San Diego, Chef Hoh has created a signature style that fuses traditional sushi making with the eclectic flavors of So Cal. Chef Hoh credits his father for instilling in him a sense of passion – and perfection – for the sushi craft that he presents in every dish.
“Arterra is known for bringing the finest ingredients tableside – and our culinary team has been working around the clock to offer a new spin on classic dishes in a new stylish and modern setting,” said General Manager Michael Wlodkowski. “We’re so excited to treat our loyal guests to an event like Taste of Arterra, which will showcase our new team, diverse menu items and give San Diego a taste of our vision for years to come.”
Admission to Taste of Arterra is open to the public with advance reservations required. Guests can RSVP for themselves and a guest by visiting Optentable.com. Entry to the event is free with a $10 donation per guest to Feeding America San Diego’s Farm2Kids program.
Arterra is committed to supporting local organizations that encourage healthful eating among San Diego’s youth, including the Farm2Kids program, which delivers fresh produce directly to 2,000 low-income local students each week.
“We’re excited that our Farm2Kids Program is a beneficiary of this fantastic event that sheds light on the importance of eating farm fresh, local foods,” said Jennifer Gilmore, Executive Director of Feeding America San Diego. “Taste of Arterra is a great opportunity to support our goal of providing local San Diego kids with fresh produce that they wouldn’t otherwise have access to.”
